Sporophores (sporangiophores) of Phycomyces blakesleeanus. Sporangiophores can grow several cm guided by environmental signals towards the open air for spore dispersal. The Phycomyces sporangiophores are guided by light, gravity, wind, touch, and the presence of nearby objects.
